Alkmaar is known as the cheese city of the Netherlands, but that title only covers part of what the charming city in the province of North Holland has to offer. In Alkmaar you will also find a wonderful, historic center with numerous monuments, nice shopping streets and countless cozy terrace cafés, pubs and restaurants.
