The Lagapad between Losser and Gronau is an excellent cycle path along the unspoilt Dinkel. Riding along a partially raised cycle path made of wooden planks, you can enjoy the beautiful Dinkel landscape.

History Denekamp was founded on a place where people could not be reached by the floodwaters of the Dinkel, which still flows through the municipality. Germanic tribes, probably the Tubantes tribe or possibly Ampsivars, established a settlement around 200 AD. In 933 AD, the village is mentioned as Daginghem. Although Danish Vikings raided the cities of Deventer and Zutphen during this period, the place name Denekamp does not come from Danes, but from the Saxon name Dago or Dano. In 1385, the village was mentioned as Degeninchem, and in 1677 as Degenkamp. The Denekamp parish consisted of the districts of Denekamp, Noord Deurningen and Beuningen (now the municipality of Losser). They were close-knit, often closed communities. Denekamp and Noord Deurningen belonged to the district court of Ootmarsum, Beuningen to the district court of Oldenzaal. Around the 15th century, Denekamp was a relatively small village with just under 100 houses.

It is very nice to cycle along the Dinkel and the Dutch side is even more interesting.

Simply beautiful, the mill with the adjacent Landgoed Singraven. Also suitable as a break stop with a restaurant.
