The Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park is a nature reserve in the Dutch province of Overijssel with a size of around 3,500 hectares. The area received official status as a national park in 2004 and is primarily home to heathland and inland dunes.

Beautiful route through the Venn

The watermill is mentioned for the first time in 1424, when the farm in Mallum (known since 1188) with the watermill was sold to the lord of Borculo. He combines farm and mill in one complex, from 1449 to 1795 the farm with mill is a fief of the Lord of Borculo. The house, farm or mansion in Mallem has been inhabited by different families over the centuries. There lived the Schonevelde families, known as van Grasdorp, Viermundt and Van Keppel.

Last week a beautiful route in the Salantse Heuvelrug Holten, beautiful nature with growing purple heather, really enjoyed it, beautiful cycling paths. We cycled 50 kilometers, hilly, really beautiful.
