The statue of a swan with outstretched wings is a symbol of freedom and independence. This statue was placed here in memory of the former independent municipality of Berkenwoude.

Schoonhoven's water tower was built in 1901 in the Neo-Renaissance style with chalet influences and stands approximately 50 meters tall. Once part of the water supply system, it is now a national monument with residential functions and a holiday apartment. The tower is a striking landmark on the Lek River and a symbol of the city.

The Laurentius Church in Bergambacht is a medieval, Gothic church with a distinctive 16th-century tower. The church has a rich history of destruction, reconstruction, and restoration, including a severe storm in 1674 and a fire in 1891. Inside, you'll find historical elements such as a pulpit from 1661, a tombstone from 1625, and an organ from 1903. The tower can be climbed during Open Monument Day.

One of the most beautiful water towers we have seen so far. Maybe worth taking a look in Zwijndrecht and Nijkerk at the water towers of the same designer and builder
