The Geerpolder is a beautiful, marshy nature reserve. The route through the area feels very natural, and in summer you can spot a colony of spoonbills and many other bird species. Boots can be very useful in wet weather!

A large, double lock that's no longer used very often. You can cycle across it. On the north side is a tea garden that's open on weekend afternoons during the season (check opening hours).

Walking along the Leidsche Vaart you have a beautiful view over meadows and in the distance you see the church tower of Langeraar. Worthwhile: this is the Leidsche Vaart and not the Leidsevaart that runs through Haarlem.
