It's one of the largest estates in South Holland: De Horsten Estate. It's actually a merger of the three estates Raaphorst, Eikenhorst, and Ter Horst. De Horsten was founded in the mid-19th century and came into the hands of the Royal Family at the beginning of the 20th century when Wilhelmina purchased the estate. The original houses no longer exist, but several (out)buildings remain, including the former hunting lodge. You can now enjoy a cup of coffee or tea there. Most of De Horsten Estate is now open to walkers.

I'm enjoying browsing through your photos over coffee, but I really need to go for a walk here again soon. Especially now that summer is over and it's much quieter. It's a wonderful area, worth visiting more than once!

Lovely walking area and cycling here sometimes, but certainly not in the weekend and certainly not when it is beach weather. The quiet paths are fine but access roads are far from nice. Also recommended to go in the fall!

The walk through dunes and over the beach leads you through a beautiful part of our North Sea coast. In the dunes you walk sheltered and completely car-free.

Nice location to relax after a walk

Open daily from 10am to 10pm. They offer a wide range of dishes for lunch and dinner, including seasonal specialties like stew and winter classics like Apfelstrudel and Glühwein.
