Beautiful mountain, but the Kistenkar is very dangerous! It's best to only go in summer (if at all)!

This text can be found on the attached plaque, very informative and helpful! John of Nepomuk was born around 1350 in Pomuk near Pilsen/Czech Republic. As vicar general of the Prague bishop, he became involved in political disputes with the Bohemian King Wenceslas IV. According to legend, he refused to break the seal of confession and was drowned in the Vltava in 1393. As the patron saint of sailors and raftsmen, he stands on bridges to protect against water hazards. This modern Nepomuk figure by Wolfgang Wright from Kiefersfelden was inaugurated in 2008.
