07:00 in the morning. The sun is still low at the beginning. Fog rises from the plowed fields - little only. Because of the long drought, there is only sparse water to evaporate. Swarms of crows come flying from their roosts across the meadows. Late summer mood is in the air. So much yellow and brown foliage already at my feet. On the Lechdamm, "roads" made of felled maize stalks, from the nearby field, over the dam, to the water, which I keep crossing, reveal the presence of beavers. Weaver teasels line the shore for a while - more than I've ever seen before.
