The hut is located at an altitude of 1,600 meters on the high plateau of the Reiteralpe. You can stop here from mid-May to mid-October. Typical warm hut dishes are served as well as snacks and cakes. I ate cheese dumplings in an onion soup. I can only say that they were "worthy of a star"!!! I couldn't try a cake because the dumplings were so big, but they looked delicious. After consulting the host, everything is made fresh and homemade. You do have to wait a bit, but it's definitely worth it. The hut is always open, with no closing days!!!

The new tenants are here. Super friendly service, everyone can find something delicious to eat on the menu. Closing day is now Fridays.

Unfortunately still closed at the moment because, as we were told, the tenant is changing. They won't be opening again until June. But it really is a beautiful view that you can enjoy for a long time.

A beautiful viewpoint peak, the highest in the Chiemgau Alps, and can be reached with relatively little elevation gain thanks to the high hiking car park. A good start for ski tourers and snowshoe hikers.

Super nice hut staff will happily welcome you and serve really good food - even though everything has to be flown in by helicopter at great expense. The prices are then absolutely ok! However, you have to be prepared for water shortages, showering is often not possible.
