It's a great experience every time, and the climb to the upper falls (sometimes a bit steep, but never technically difficult) is definitely worth it.

The waterfall path IN 1900, THE WATERFALL TRAIL WITH ITS NUMEROUS VIEWPOINTS AND PULPITS WAS BUILT AND HAS BEEN BRINGING NATURE-LOVED PEOPLE CLOSE TO THE KRIMML WATERFALLS. THE PATH IS WELL PAVED AND IS CONTINUOUSLY CARE AND MAINTAINED. In 10 - 15 minutes you can walk from the parking lot to the lowest waterfall. From there, the serpentine waterfall path leads to the top waterfall (walking time approx. 1.15 hours) and further into the Krimmler Achental. Observation pulpits allow spectacular views of the roaring waters of the Krimml Waterfalls. You can find out useful information at the information point, and a large selection of literature, DVDs and much more is also available at the ÖAV information point. Access to Kürsingerplatz has been designed to be handicapped accessible. “The principle of all things is water, for water is everything and to water everything returns.” (Thales of Miletus, 624 - 546)

The Krimml Waterfall Trail leads directly to this impressive natural wonder. There are numerous viewpoints along the way that offer breathtaking views of the cascading waters and the surrounding landscape. The Krimml Waterfalls are divided into three sections: the Lower, the Middle and the Upper Achenfalls. The Lower Achenfall is about a 20-minute walk from Krimml, while the Middle Achenfall takes about 45 minutes and the walk to the Upper Waterfall takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. In total, the path stretches over 4.15 kilometers and overcomes an altitude difference of 431 meters.

We recommend visiting the falls on weekdays. It can be very crowded on public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays and expect long waits at the viewing points. The entrance ticket costs 8 euros for adults and around 6 euros for children, although prices can vary greatly depending on the number of visitors and the seasons. If the weather predicts fog for the next day, it is best to start the tour around 11 a.m. to have better visibility due to darkening and fog.
