On the Berlin-Copenhagen cycle path east of Lake Krakow near the small town of Neu Dobbin, the observation tower at the former milking parlor invites you to linger. The observation tower "Paradiesgartenblick am alten Melkstand" offers fascinating views of the Krakow lake landscape and is located between the towns of Neu Zietlitz and Neu Dobbin. In 2010, Wilfried Baldermann, mayor of Dobbin-Linstow, inaugurated the observation tower with its wonderful view of Lake Krakow and the landscape. The observation platform owes its nickname "Am alten Melkstand" to the fact that cows were still milked here until 1969. The current two-storey manor house, a red brick building with 13 axes, a base made of granite blocks and a hipped roof, was built according to a design by the Wismar architect Heinrich Thormann in 1859.[17] The manor house dates from around 1860/65. The balcony under the entrance is accentuated by balusters. A row of consoles runs under the eaves and yellow bricks decorate the cornices between the floors and window reveals.[18] For static reasons, the mighty tower above the entrance in the middle of the house was demolished after 1888 during the change of ownership between Eduard Krause and Günther Ehlermann. After 1905, the manor house was given its current appearance with neo-Gothic accents through multiple renovations. Güstrow Castle is one of the most important Renaissance castles in northern Europe. It combines Italian and French architectural elements with a typically northern European basic structure in a fascinating way. The castle's special jewel can be admired in its ballroom. A lively red deer frieze from the time it was built, which was created for Duke Ulrich in 1570, has been preserved here. Deer and hinds frolic here, jumping or grazing peacefully together. They are considered a symbol of a good royal marriage, so that the deer frieze refers to the paired name cartouches above, which show Duke Ulrich's noble ancestors.
