I have now found there is a walk or possible single track around this. But TPT riders not. This is not the TPT trail. Sat having sandwiches here watched about 20 riders come along thinking but where does it go. Take the Main Gravel road uphill to Pilley. This is just a weird beauty spot I adore on my routes.

Actually a really beautiful place to stop. Think the area is for the Evri and industrial areas water run off as there is only often an inch or 2. Nice little spot though in the trail to grab 5. There are bins also and about 5 life buoy. Which for 1 inch of water. I’m curious. Must be the Tarmac and surface area run off for the added industrial units but lots of wildlife so recommend.

If you fancy a real treat, before your visit, book a House tour followed by Afternoon Tea in the Long Room. It’s fabulous.

A great place to take a breather after the gravel track. The church of the Manor House and later the Hall, it is situated in the original settlement on Tankersley and offers visitors a most interesting and peaceful visit. The church of the Manor House and later the Hall, it is situated in the original settlement on Tankersley and offers visitors a most interesting and peaceful visit. We know from the Doomsday survey that the church existed in 1086. There is Saxon stone built into the outer wall on the south side of the chancel. The oldest part still standing is the arcade dividing the nave from the north aisle, which is 12th century. The chancel was built in the early 13th century, and the roof was altered in 1300 to allow the insertion of clerestory windows. There was much building activity between 1460 and 1500, evidence of which is interesting to spot. It includes the distortion of the chancel arch, as it was altered to take different Rood Screens.
