The hiking trail (Way of St. James) often runs very close to the Löbau River. When it's wet or frozen and there's fallen leaves, you have to be very careful. It's not recommended for everyone.

This "Lausker Schanze" is notable for the fact that on the top of the rampart there is a romantic ruin built in Gothic style in 1807. This served as an observation tower until the middle of the 20th century, but has since become a "real" ruin.

Update March 2024: We met two young volunteers here today who were in the process of putting up the boards with the QR codes for the Siebenbrückenweg and the Prinzenweg. They also attached a large sign with a kind of pedigree. The cemetery looks very clear at this early point in the year. The damage to the fencing came from fallen branches of the two huge trees.

When the timetable changed on May 27, 1972, passenger traffic between Löbau and Baruth was stopped. When the timetable changed in autumn, the remaining route also lost its passenger traffic. From then on there was only freight traffic between Baruth and Radibor. In the spring of 1973 the Löbau – Baruth line was dismantled. However, in 1978 a new track was laid between Löbau and Kittlitz, which was used for tank loading at the NVA Löbau site. When the Margarethenhütte stopped production at the end of 1993, the remaining route also came to an end. At the end of 1994, freight traffic between Baruth and Guttau officially ended. In 1997 the Guttau freight station was also closed. The line was closed on September 1, 1996 (Baruth–Guttau) and August 15, 1998 (Guttau–Radibor). In 2004 the remaining tracks were dismantled. Sometimes there isn't much to see on the jumps, but this one is definitely worth it. The two oak trees alone create an impressive picture. The Bressler family's small cemetery could of course be better maintained, but it all has to be done and you need people and you have to constantly stick with it. At least the overgrown blackberries mentioned by Hentschel have been removed. This way you can devote more time to deciphering the tombstones.

This structure is also called the devil's stone arch. Apparently he sharpens his scythe here every night.

Right next to the castle: the start of a beautiful tour through the Gröditzer skala. There is also a small, cozy café and pilgrimage house, with delicious cakes…

There are currently 30-40 large trees in the way and the hiking trails are in a poor condition. Good surefootedness is important

This former manor house was a children's home until a few years ago. Then the former owners were able to buy it back. They now live in Switzerland after having to leave the country after 1945. The St. Martha pilgrim hostel is run in the old laundry.
