The Fiek'n Fountain in Hagenow depicts a typical scene from everyday life in the town. There, you can see the bronze figures of Mrs. Püttelkow and Fiek'n discussing the latest gossip, while a shoemaker's apprentice secretly eavesdrops.

Beautiful reuse of the old Preten train station - unfortunately only open on weekends

The current church was built between 1875 and 1879 in the center of the old town on the foundations of a previous building. Between 1974 and 1977, it was extensively remodeled with funding from one of the GDR's church building programs, at a cost of 480,000 Deutschmarks. It is a cruciform church (architecture) according to the building standards of the Eisenach regulations.

Hagenow City Church is the local church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hagenow. The parish belongs to the Parchim provostship in the Mecklenburg church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church).

The old train station in Preten is now a café. Unfortunately, the café is still closed in March. Opening hours from April to October are weekends and public holidays (Sat and Sun, 12 noon - 6 pm). The café belongs to the neighboring Seebürger sheep farm (https://schaeferei-seebuerger.de/), which also offers tours of its operations.
