Lovely MTB/gravel route - when dry!

Lovely road, steady climb, quiet.

This part of the Chalkland Way feels very sheltered and peaceful as it emerges from Stable Plantation and Great Plantation into Tun Dale. A great track to follow.

This is a great track to include on your route, running south through a succession of scenic dales: Tun Dale, Frendal Dale and Nettle Dale, before rising above Millington Dale and then dropping down into Sylvan Dale with its unique gridline gorse bushes.

Spectacular views over the rolling wolds, even on a dreary winter's day. Not many footpaths or bridleways around these parts, so photos were taken from the roadside, but the roads are very small and very quiet backroads with good wide grass verges, quite safe to walk long.

This footpath just outside Nunburnholme travels through fields of farmland alongside Singleton's Wood. Not only does the path showcase gorgeous views across the Yorkshire Wolds, but it extends its reaches to the nearby town of Pocklington. On a clear day, keen eyes may even be able to make out the blue clock face on the town's church. In the spring months, the fields come alive with yellow as the rapeseed flowers begin to bloom.

Open countryside views.

This is a glorious road that winds between Millington and Huggate. It makes for a great climb or a great descent whichever way you chose to travel. You are right in the depths of the dale, with hills and woodland around you. Its very easy to feel like you are right in the middle of nowhere!

Even in poor weather, it is great to get the whole view of the Moors and appreciate the beauty.

On a clear day, you can make out the blue clock face on the All Saints church Pocklington

Great starting point of trails in the area, parking available on the roadside to the east, and the start, of the trail.

These white chalk roads / paths are so unique and striking.

Worth a stop for the view.
