The rocky cone of Smaltinden is a great objective for a challenging mountain hike. It's a relatively steep hike but is also well signposted and provides exceptional views, particularly towards the peaks on Tomma.

The path is mostly muddy and therefore tiring. At the destination, there is a path that leads down to the Nepsteinen at the first pile of stones. At the second pile of stones there is a beautiful view over the fjord.

Good for camping. Toilet and picnic benches and an amazing view. Have to look around for tent spots because it's mostly asphalt.

Great hike to Næpsteinen. Including breaks, it took us about 7 hours. Some of the paths were very wet over moss.

If you want to stay here, you should take mosquito spray with you if possible.

Great view as a reward after the long climb. There is also a toilet and benches to rest here.

A very beautiful section through large rocks, like a fairy tale! However, concentration and surefootedness are required. Lots of exposed tree roots that can get your feet caught in them.
