The 1.7-kilometer-long motorway bridge offers a magnificent view of the Vejlefjord, the town center, and the striking wave-shaped buildings known as "Bølgen." A stop at the viewpoints in Bredballe is particularly worthwhile to admire the architecture and the vastness of the fjord. It's a great spot for photos and a perfect place for a short break during an extended bike ride or hike along the east coast of Jutland.

Beautiful area

Fredericia's ramparts have six openings connecting the city center with the surrounding area, but only three of them have actual gates: Danmarks Port, Prinsens Port, and Nørre Port. Prinsens Port is the oldest of the gates, dating back to 1753 in its current design. When the yellow, brick gate was built in 1753, it replaced an earlier wooden gate. Very pretty surroundings

Danmarks Port, the newest gate of the city walls, dates from 1924 and was also designed in the Neoclassical style by architect Oscar Gundlach-Pedersen. Besides the fact that Nørre Port and Danmarks Port are based on the same architectural style and were designed by the same architect, there are also clear visual parallels in the round shape of the arch and the two smaller, separate arches for pedestrians that symmetrically flank the main passageway. Munkebjerg is a wooded ridge on the south side of Vejle Fjord, featuring one of Denmark’s rare serpentine roads. The winding climb, surrounded by forest, feels almost alpine and proves that Denmark isn't completely flat. It’s a popular route for cycling events and vintage car races thanks to its unique layout and scenic setting. A must-ride for anyone who enjoys a challenging hill with great views.

The bicycle sculpture in the roundabout near Vejle stands as a lasting tribute to the city's role in the 2022 Tour de France. The sculpture symbolises how central cycling is to the city's identity, with the bicycle at the heart of the roundabout illustrating that "everything revolves around the bicycle."
