In front of this beautiful building sits a strange and controversial sculpture: The Troll who smells the flesh of Christians. This Danish art museum specializes in symbolism and new art. Created in 1924, it houses, among others, the works of Niels Hansen Jacobsen, sculptor and ceramist of art nouveau, born in Vejen. The troll sculpture is one of his many creations.

Bække Anlæg lies near the church in the outskirt of town. There are 4 shelters free to use and water and toilet near by. Also not far away there is grocery store and a tourist office

The Vejen Art Museum is a state-recognised art museum located in the town of Vejen, between Kolding and Esbjerg. Admission free Opening hours.: Tuesday-Friday 10-16 Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 11-17 CLOSED on Mondays, except Easter Monday and Whit Monday CLOSED 24, 25, 31.12 and 1 Jan.

The church in Gesten consists of a Romanesque choir and nave with a tower and church vestibule added later. Some of the pews and a servant's chair are from 1575. The church itself dates back to the 12th century. There were several additions such as the so-called "armory" (the entrance) and in 2014 the tower was also renewed. So actually there is now a very modern tower on an old church, the combination worked well here. Inside you can find some interesting details between old and new. The altarpiece shows the "Emmaus disciples". In front of the door, the cemetery is impressively cared for.
