Since 1965, the Oteppe castle and its surrounding estate (65 ha) have been run as a holiday centre ("L'Hirondelle") with a hotel, campsite, holiday chalets and bungalows, swimming pools, playground and fishing ponds; as a result, the village's population has almost doubled during the summer months.

Very pleasant to clear your head.

This side is paved. So it's often used on the way down, and rightly so, I'd say. However, on the way up, it's also very pleasant, especially in sunny weather, as this side is much shadier.

A lesser-known side of the citadel, not as pleasant as the two more well-known sides, but worth a visit for a change of scenery. Here you'll see the typical Namur mansions.

From this side of the Meuse, you have a beautiful view of the imposing fortress that towers high above the river and the city. The stone ramparts and green slopes of the Citadel stand out sharply against the sky, making for an atmospheric and photogenic picture. An ideal spot to admire the grandeur of the Citadel from a distance and to let the charm of Namur sink in.
