Ideal for cycling on this safe track, approximately 45 km between the two towns

Contrary to what the name "museum" suggests, this isn't a building or a domain where you can wander around and admire all sorts of bicycles. No, they make "crazy" bikes (similar to the kind you can experiment with at De Lustige Velodroom in Blankenberge) that you can rent. There's also a drinks vending machine (at d'Oude Smisse).

Meersgat is one of four places in the valley area where you can cross the Oude Kale. You will also find a resting bench here.

The Leeuwenhof domain is not located in the city centre at all, as suggested here, but is located about 5 km west of the historic city centre. It is one of the 3 official access zones to the green pool Vinderhoutse Bossen. In addition to a pond with a seating platform, you will find many valuable grasslands, old trees, an orchard and natural play stimuli here. In the north, the domain connects to the valuable historic forest core of the Vinderhoutse Bossen. You can start here or join one of the 5 walking routes through the green pool. Source: stad.gent

One of the most beautiful nature walks in Meetjesland is just a stone's throw from Ghent.

The easiest way is to park your car at the parking lot of the cemetery of Vinderhoute. 100m further on, the proud Vinderhoutse Mill awaits you. Twenty meters further on, on the left, there are permanent tables, benches, a bicycle parking space and even a water tap available. From there, several walks start in the Valley of the Kale. Just to rest or to refill your sugar reserves - there is definitely something for everyone (but unfortunately it is anything but cheap).
