The Col du Rideux: a gem in Luxembourg's Aisne Valley and a favorite among climbing enthusiasts. The 2.6 km climb (avg. 6.2%, 160m elevation gain) winds through a dense forest and is actually divided into two sections. After the hairpin bend, it seems to be over, but then comes a challenging final half kilometer at 8%. The road surface isn't in the best condition, but the climb has charm. Fun fact: rumor has it that this was the first climb in Belgium to be designated a "Col"!

The Devil's Bed, a place where a legend was born. Do not be afraid to enter this place. During the day you will not find the Devil here. The brave may be surprised at night. The Devil's fire devours every living creature. Be alert when the sky turns orange. Who knows, you may be next.

Some claim that the ‘Devil’s Bed’ is an ancient sacrificial altar. Standing on this stone is said to bring bad luck. For example, a boy is said to have stood on the Devil’s Bed despite the guide’s advice. A day later, the guide learned that the boy had stumbled and fallen on his forehead against a bench, resulting in a horrible head injury. Another testimony tells of a school bus that refused to operate as soon as a certain pupil got on, namely a boy who had just sat on the infamous stone. Some guides advise to keep at least seven metres away from the Devil’s Bed. Source: Folktales

At the sign of the highest point there is a warning against ticks and Lime disease, Good thing. We were also lucky because a day later we could not have walked this walk because of the Hunters.
