The Rifugio Sandro Pertini is beautifully situated at approximately 2,300 meters on the south slope of the Sassolungo group in the Dolomites. From the hut, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Dolomites of the Fassa Valley, as well as the Catinaccio, the Letemar, the Monzoni range, and the Sella group. Even the glaciers of the Marmolada can be seen from here.

The Plattkofelhütte is an alpine refuge in the Dolomites, located on the Friedrich-August-Weg at 2300 m at the foot of the Plattkofel.

The hut takes its name from the Plattkofel, the characteristic Dolomite peak that towers above.

The 19th-century neo-Gothic nave was demolished in 1988 and replaced by a modern, octagonal structure. However, the beautiful chancel, dating from 1670, with the miraculous image by Lucas Cranach on the main altar, remains. As early as 1503, Wilhelm von Wolkenstein had a chapel dedicated to Mary Help of Christians built here, which was later enlarged several times, as many pilgrims made and still make pilgrimages to this cherished place of pilgrimage. On the outer wall of the sacristy, you can see a granite Wolkenstein coat of arms.
