Unfortunately, it only happens once a year. In 2024, it was on Sunday (October 13th) at 12:30 p.m. for about half an hour. Cows decorated with large bells walk and sometimes "run" through the street, followed by a parade of brass bands and a few floats. Afterwards, the event continues in the festival tent.

The figure of the Gänseliesel was often thematized by artists in the form of paintings or sculptures. The Szamotuly Promenade, renamed in 2019 after Bruneck's twin town in Poland, leads partly on asphalt, partly on a fixed hiking path along the south-eastern edge of Bruneck along the Rienz. It's a nice flat running and walking route that goes partly through the forest.

The Lamprechtsburg and the chapel belonging to it are completely surrounded by an impressive circular wall and, typical of a so-called spur castle, border on the Rienz Gorge on three sides. The castle is privately owned and is not accessible. Nevertheless: A look at the imposing building on the abyss is worth it!

The well-preserved Brunico Castle is first mentioned in the 13th century. The Bishop of Brixen had the castle built to secure his territorial sovereignty. The foundation stone for the city of Bruneck itself was laid with the castle. From the Schlossberg you have a beautiful view over the city!
