MTB rather easier route

A very nice descent from Eilandberg to Sieghartskirchen. A pleasant gradient, even uphill, allows for a quick ride.

Heiligenkreuz Abbey, with its significant history and beautiful buildings, is worth a visit. Many parts of the abbey can only be visited with a guided tour. The squares and churches are freely accessible.

The castle complex, which dates back to the 13th century, was destroyed by the Turks in 1525. The current castle building (moated castle) was built in its basic design around 1589. Since 1961, the castle has housed the "Save the Children" organization with a boarding school for students and apprentices.
