A very nice cycle path with a great panoramic view of the mountains.

The stately Moar (Mayr) farmstead in Viersch (870 m) was acquired in 990 by Bishop Albuin of Brixen. For many centuries, it served as the kitchen farm of the Prince-Bishopric. From 1645 to 1879, it was owned by the Lords of Troyer. They built the small church dedicated to St. Catherine in 1720. The Viersch farmstead was destroyed by fire in 1878 and rebuilt in its present form. It once featured a prehistoric hillfort. Bronze and ceramic finds, Roman coins, and a small figurine of Jupiter are kept in the Provincial Museum. A restored, medieval, and very deep draw well (known locally as a "Ziggl") is located between the buildings.

Brixen

The beautiful old town is a must-see for every visitor to Brixen. Narrow streets lined with small shops and restaurants make for a fun-filled visit. The cathedral and its adjacent cloister are also a must-see.

From the Neustift Monastery, you can already see the summit of the Schrotthorn. A good 1,900 meters of elevation gain and 14.5 km (the first 12 km of which are through a shady forest along the Schalderer stream) still lie ahead.
