Church of St. Catherine in Viers Built in 1720 by the owners of the Küchenmairhof estate in Viers, the noble family von Troyer. Consecrated in 1730 by Prince-Bishop Caspar Ignaz von Künigl in honor of St. Catherine of Alexandria. Altar (1728) with a depiction of the Marriage of St. Catherine and John the Baptist. On the sides are statues of St. George and St. Martin, as well as the coat of arms of the Troyer-Winkelhofen family. Also present is an 18th-century painting of the Apparition of Christ to Mary Magdalene. The planned establishment in 1741 of a separate chaplaincy in Viers with a capital of 4,000 guilders by Johann Kaspar von Troyer, Canon of Innichen, never came to fruition. Nevertheless, individual chaplains are recorded, such as Ignaz Widmann (+ 1787) and Ignaz Tasser (+ 1806).

The small shelter provides us with welcome shelter during a rain shower. Unfortunately, during our visit today, there was a lot of trash in the hut, such as empty chip bags and the like. Dear all, please take any trash you carry up here back down to the valley with you!

Directly behind the crossroads there is a rest area consisting of a table and two benches, which invites us to take a short break.
