The Twelve Tower was built between 1468 and 1472 above the town's main entrance and served as the upper town gate, at a time when the nearby silver mine in Ridnaun brought prosperity to the region and Sterzing experienced its rise as a Fugger town. Two marble plaques above the archway still commemorate the laying of the foundation stone by Duke Sigismund of Austria in 1469. In 1867, the Gothic spire burned down and was subsequently replaced by the current stone stepped gable.

The parish church of the Immaculate Conception in Gossensaß was built in the Baroque style starting in 1750 and consecrated in 1754. It replaced a Gothic church from 1471, whose bell tower was preserved. Construction was overseen by Franz de Paula Penz and completed in 1769. Inside, the Baroque ceiling paintings by Matthäus Günther (circa 1751), which were restored in the 1960s, are particularly impressive. The simple high altar and the serene interior design lend the church a distinctly spiritual atmosphere. Its elevated position affords a sweeping view across the Pflersch Valley to the Stubai Glaciers, a view known as the "Glacier View."

Vipiteno's town hall is one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in South Tyrol. Built in the 15th century, it captivates with its ornate façade, pointed gables, and magnificent council chamber with original wood paneling. Today, it houses a museum that offers fascinating insights into the town's history. A worthwhile stop in the heart of the picturesque old town!
