The Dohl Cross or Scher Cross near Hoffeld is a historic pilgrimage site on the way to the pilgrimage church in Barweiler. Pilgrims gather here in small groups or individually to make the journey to "Our Lady of the Lily, Queen of Peace" as a larger community.

Lake Hoffeld, a former basalt quarry on the Burgkopf hill above Hoffeld, is not open to the public. It is used by the Hoffeld 1990 e.V. fishing club and is fenced off on all sides.

Former basalt quarry I've even been swimming there before. If you're nearby, it's definitely worth a visit.

In Kirmutscheid, a river bend and administrative boundaries converged in the Middle Ages, a fact still evident in the place name. From here, you have a beautiful view of the picturesque village.

The Eifel lounger with a magnificent view is particularly pleasant. The chapel is very well maintained and invites you to take a break.

Good parking lot to start various hikes. With tables and benches to rest, although the direct traffic on the main road is somewhat disruptive. But ideal for changing hiking boots and a short break...🥾
