From here you have a privileged view of Isola Bella, a rocky islet at the foot of Taormina connected to the mainland by a thin strip of sand. A ticket is required to visit. It overlooks a clean and transparent sea and has a long pebble beach. The town is bordered by a promontory known as Capo Sant'Alessio on which the castle stands.

At the beginning of the Centro Storico. There is always a lot going on here. The buses stop here and the cable car passengers head for the entrance.

From the national road along the coast there are beautiful views of Isola Bella and the rocky bay with the peninsula behind it. However, there is no (reasonable) footpath along the road, let alone a hiking trail!
