A small church which from studies appears to have existed in the sixteenth century and then erected as a parish church at the end of the eighteenth century. The current structure includes the additions at the end of the 19th century and it seems that at that time the parish was very busy despite the small town.

The Monera Caves, ancient sandstone quarries formed 25 million years ago from the seabed, extend along the Lanza. Once used for the extraction of sandstone blocks, today they are recognized as natural and cultural heritage.

Located on the homonymous hill, at 505 m a.s.l. The first documentary evidence of the church is from 1438, but the current forms are from the eighteenth century. It is currently dedicated to Maria Regina Angelorum, to San Grato (protector from storms) and to San Maffeo (due to an erroneous interpretation of the ancient spelling of the name Matteo). From the hill you can enjoy a very beautiful panorama.
