The Nebeldurchbruchtal valley is highly recommended. The paths lead through moorland, along streams, and sometimes cross them in adventurous ways (a wooden walkway with only a single handrail). Unspoilt nature awaits, before Lake Krakow opens up with its less crowded bays and shoreline paths.

The first documented mention of Alt Sammit dates back to 1274. After an eventful history, the castle became private property in 1996 and was renovated.
