Located between the villages of Dünstekoven and Buschhoven, this area was once used for gravel extraction. The gravel pit has since been closed. The area, which is not open to the public (!), has since become an ecologically valuable nature reserve. It is managed by the NABU Bonn district group. Once a year, there is an exceptional opportunity to enter the area and receive informative guided tours. Outside of these events, entry is prohibited!

Rest area in the heart of Metternich - lovingly designed and decorated for Christmas 🎄 There are many benches and two tables. So it is also ideal as a rest area for larger hiking groups 🥾

Very pleasant, especially in summer. In many places you can even find horses 🐎 .

This wonderful fountain can be found near the water castle in Metternich. It is really worth seeing.
