A memorial stone with an inscription on the Lüßberg commemorates the great hurricane Quimburga of November 13, 1972. According to the inscription, this had destroyed “320,000 cubic meters in the area of the Lüß Forestry Office,” which “corresponded to 15 times the normal annual felling.”

Beautiful boardwalk through wetland. Some of the wooden planks are in poor condition and need to be repaired.
