Commemoration of 408 soldiers of the Uelzen Riflemen's Guild who died a hero's death between 1914 and 1918.

The summit cross stands here on the mountain which is 94m high and you can sign the summit book.

The heath is always worth a visit – not just during the heather bloom in August, when the landscape transforms into a glorious purple. The nature park stretches over 480 square kilometers between the heathland villages of Eschede, Hermannsburg, Müden, Unterlüß, and Winsen (Aller). The Southern Heath Nature Park offers protection to animals sensitive to disturbance, such as the crane and the black stork. Herds of Heidschnucke sheep (Heidschnucke sheep) take care of the landscape – they regularly nibble on the heather. Numerous hiking and cycling trails lead through the hilly heathland, which dates back to the Ice Age.
