The Portello Pass is located at 1040m above sea level and connects the upper Trebbia Valley with the Fontanabuona Valley. From the pass you can enjoy an open view which, sweeping over the mountains, reaches all the way to the sea.

La Casa del Romano is a historic and scenic retreat, known for its spring daffodils. It has origins in a romantic love escape, today it is a family hotel restaurant with annual cultural events.

Casa del Romano is a locality located in the municipality of Fascia. The name of the hamlet and of the inn that was built there derives from a legend: a boy named Stevanin moved to Rome for work and from that moment the inhabitants of his village began to call him "The Roman". In the capital he fell in love with a girl and promised her that if she married him they would move to Sottoripa. The girl, thinking that Stevanin was referring to the Genoese district of Sottoripa, accepted his proposal. After the marriage, however, "Il Romano" took her to Sottoripa di Montebruno ”. The girl felt deceived and with the passing of the days she was more and more sad, until one day she said: "Stevanin you deceived me, but rather than staying here I want to go and live on the highest mountain you can see from here". "The Roman" satisfied him: on that mountain he built a house and then a tavern that is still called "the Roman House" today.
