The wine village is known for its Gewürztraminer wines and the traditional Egetmann parade, which takes place on Shrove Tuesday in odd-numbered years. Just outside Graun, a sunny plateau and district of Kurtatsch on the Wine Route, stands the parish church with its Romanesque tower from the 13th century. The rest of the building is late Gothic with pointed arch windows and is surrounded by the cemetery, which was consecrated in 1789. While St. George's Church, as mentioned, is a little outside the village, the parish vicarage is in the center of Graun and is flanked by the vicarage chapel to the apostles Simon and Judah from the 18th century. A look inside the parish church of Graun shows a baroque high altar from 1713, which comes from the abandoned St. George's Church in Altenburg near Kaltern. A stone-framed triumphal arch separates the nave from the choir with its star-ribbed vault. Keystones with a head of Christ and empty coats of arms can be seen there. By the way: Today the parish church of Graun is one of the 30 architectural monuments in the municipality of Kurtatsch and can be reached on foot.
