The impressive building of the former Hagenow post office, which is now a listed building, was built in 1896/97. The commissioning of the railway line brought the city an economic upswing in the mid-19th century. Roads were built to open up the city train station in 1894. Representative town houses were built here, which today are a testament to the Gründerzeit in Hagenow.
