The town of Enns is considered Austria's oldest town and boasts a rich history dating back to Roman times. The town square, with its 60-meter-high town tower from the 16th century, is the visible centerpiece, surrounded by historic town houses, the Baroque Marienbrunnen fountain, and numerous cafés with cozy outdoor seating. An impressive facility and also an impressive building. The Abwinden-Asten power plant is a run-of-river power plant, belongs to the Austrian Danube power plants and was built between 1976 and 1979. Nine sets of machines in the machine house supply electricity to the public power grid. The standard working capacity is 995 million kWh per year.
