The most evocative part of the Nesso ravine is certainly the famous Civera bridge, symbol of this place. The ravine is formed by two rivers that converge, the Tuf and the Nosé, which form a steep waterfall that ends up in the waters of the lake.

The famous Nesso Gorge, locally known as Orrido di Nesso, is probably one of the best natural wonders that you can find around the lake. Located in the picturesque hamlet of Coatesa, this is a narrow, deep natural gorge shaped over the centuries by the incessant flow of water. The gorge is home to a beautiful bubbling waterfall created by the waters of the Tuf and Nosée rivers. The waterfall is at its best in spring or after heavy rains, which enrich the waters of the two rivers. Scattered here and there within the gorge are some remnants of the ancient machinery that operated by the force of the water flowing through the gorge. It is a small hamlet on the shore of the lake south of the ravine. The toponym indicates the presence of a large irrigation ditch, and therefore it can only be placed along the route of the Valle di Tuff, where the hydraulic power factories of Nesso are located.

Over the centuries, the power of the waters of the Orrido has been exploited by factories and workshops to produce motive power; for the town of Nesso, the Orrido was of vital importance for the development of the manufacturing industry, mills, paper mills, spinning wheels, oil mills, all powered by the hydraulic energy of the waterfall.

The ravine of Nesso is visible from Piazza Castello or from the medieval bridge also known as the Civera bridge, on the shore of Lake Como. The Orrido is formed by the confluence of two streams: Tuf and Nosè, which, falling between the rocks, form a steep waterfall; the difference in height from the beginning of the waterfall to the waters of the Lario is about 200 meters, a path between narrow and deep gorges, shaped by the incessant flow of the waters.
