The Kuhnenkopf is a 530.9 m high mountain in the southern Palatinate Forest, offering wonderful views of the Palatinate Forest. As part of the Westwall (Westwall) built before World War II, there was an observation post dug into the summit rock on the Kuhnenkopf, partially covered with a concrete roof. The opening provided space for one person tasked with monitoring French activities in the Litschbach Valley. Today, concrete remains can still be found at the opening, which is now covered with a grating.

The Wegelnburg Castle is located at an altitude of 572 meters, stretching along a mountain ridge. It is the highest castle complex in the Palatinate region, offering panoramic views over the Palatinate Forest/Northern Vosges Biosphere Reserve. This imperial fortress was built in the 12th/13th centuries. Remains of gates, buildings, large rock chambers, and surrounding walls are worth seeing.

The rock is located approximately 500 meters southeast of the southern summit, on the French side of the Schlossberg with the Hohenburg Castle. The mountain is located directly on the German-French border in the Wasgau mountain range, the French part of which is known there as the Northern Vosges. A mountain ridge runs from the southern summit over the Löwenstein to the rock.
