With the train station, Sigmundskron is a good starting point for either taking the great train cycle path to Caldaro. From there then in the direction of the Mendelpass and Gampenpass or through the beautiful wine landscape to Lake Caldaro and then in the direction of Ora on the Adige Cycle Path. Alternatively through Bolzano along the Eisack also on a super nice train cycle path in the direction of Klausen, Brixen, Sterzing. However, if you prefer to drive in the direction of Meran, then you will arrive on the Adige Cycle Path after "only" about 110 km at the Reschensee and the Reschenpass. There is also a large, free parking lot at the train station - have fun 🚴🏻‍♂️👍🏻🚴🏻‍♂️

Below Bolzano the cycle path follows the course of the river between vineyards and apple orchards. A bit boring at times but still safe and easy to pedal. South wind in the afternoon!

The cycle path is very beautiful and it is very idyllic to cycle past the many apple trees between the mountains. It's great to get to Meran. Great that there is this bike path. In the dark, however, it is unfortunately not illuminated, which is not a problem if you have good light yourself. However, I would not recommend driving here without light or with only sparse light, as it goes downhill right next to the cycle path, which means that there is a risk of accidents in poor visibility. So be sure to think of lights if it is possible to be on the road longer and only drive back when it is dark!
