The Adige Cycle Path between Bolzano and Trento is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it's easy to cycle, always straight, but from midday onward, there's usually a strong headwind blowing up the Adige Valley from the Po Valley. All in all, over 100 km along the Adige River simply becomes boring. One option is a detour along the old railway line, via Kaltern and Tramin.

Spectacular cycle path, and besides beautiful I would say indispensable to avoid the very busy main road.

Coming from the north, the cycle path forks immediately after the bridge. It continues along the river on the EV7 to the Adige. Turning left, the BI-1 takes you directly toward the center of Trento.
