The imposing walls, substantially preserved, give a good idea of what medieval life must have been like. Today, these fortifications defend the citadel from intense perimeter motorized traffic, even heavy. For this reason, coming from Este, in an anticlockwise direction, it is advisable to cross viale Trento and follow the signs for "Parco di Fiumicello": in this way you enter the citadel through "Porta Vicenza", thus avoiding the bulk of the traffic
