Rifugio Pompeo Scalorbi is located at 1,767 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Piccole Dolomiti. The Road of Heroes owes its name to the twelve plaques affixed along it in honor of the twelve gold medals for military valor who fought on Pasubio during the Great War.
