Suvereto lies between the hills and the sea of the Etruscan Coast. The medieval village is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy and has also been awarded the Touring Club's Orange Flag. Immersed in the nature of the Val di Cornia, the town is a true treasure: its walls guard the characteristic medieval streets, stone houses, historic buildings, and evocative churches. All around are endless forests of chestnut, oak, and, of course, cork oak trees, from which the town's name derives. Surrounded by the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, Suvereto is a village rich in art and history, distinguished by its pleasant views and its preserved spirit of tranquility and rest.

It's certainly a beautiful city. But cyclists aren't welcome here at all. When I tried to enter from the south, I was accosted violently. So aggressively that I retreated. As a result, I never got to see the old town. There are many comparably beautiful cities with friendly people in Tuscany.

The famous tree-lined road immortalized in the verses of the poet Giosuè Carducci The suggestive Viale dei Cipressi is located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, and is a five-kilometer-long tree-lined road that connects the Oratory of San Guido to the historic center of the village of Bolgheri. A very long straight road, flanked by two rows of very thick centuries-old cypress trees, 2540 in total, which was created in the 19th century when, by rebuilding the Via Regia, perpendicular roads were created to connect it with the inland towns and villages: one of these was precisely the Stradone di San Guido.

The Teatro del Silenzio is an open-air amphitheater created in 2006 thanks to Andrea Bocelli, originally from Lajatico, who convinced the municipality to create this evocative space immersed in the hilly landscape. The small, medieval hamlet of Querceto, dating back to 1082, is located on Monte Aneo at an altitude of 260 m above the Cecina River. Querceto means "oak forest" and can only be reached via a narrow, winding path. The ascent and descent are challenging and are a great destination for racing cyclists who love altitude.

Querceto, a delightful hamlet in the municipality of Montecatini Val di Cecina (province of Pisa), boasts an ancient castle in the center of the village. Built in the 16th century, the current building has been owned by the François family, originally from Haute-Savoie, for over 120 years. The castle can still be visited today: wine tourism tours are often organized.
