St. Peter's Church in Pritzier is a neo-Gothic brick church built in 1852. It replaced an older fieldstone church, which was first mentioned in the Ratzeburg tithe register in 1230. Particularly noteworthy are the gravestones embedded in the tower entrance and the damaged church bell from 1649. The current bell dates from 1868 and is still rung by hand. In 1993, the church was renovated, and historic leaded glass windows from the 15th century were reinstated.

The current church was built between 1875 and 1879 in the center of the old town on the foundations of a previous building. Between 1974 and 1977, it was extensively remodeled with funding from one of the GDR's church building programs, at a cost of 480,000 Deutschmarks. It is a cruciform church (architecture) according to the building standards of the Eisenach regulations.

Hagenow City Church is the local church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hagenow. The parish belongs to the Parchim provostship in the Mecklenburg church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church).

The horse festival planned for May, featuring the international show jumping (CSI) and dressage (CDI) competition, is on the verge of cancellation. According to the organizer, the main sponsor—Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB)—has withdrawn.

In recent years, the horse festival has attracted not only families and horse lovers to Redefin. It has also been a meeting place for breeders and guests from neighboring European countries. The CSI tournament has brought a great deal of glamour and prestige to the state-owned horse center with its historic backdrop. That will most likely be absent this year. The village of Kirch-Jesar is more than 700 years old; the name Jesar is likely derived from Slavic and means "lake." As early as the 14th century, a chapel stood in Kirch-Jesar, which presumably fell into disrepair after the Thirty Years' War. In 1717, the Duke of Mecklenburg's court marshal, Johann Christoph von Halberstadt, had the new church built in a simple style. The wood-clad tower with its slate roof was not added until 1847, as was the interior. A few years later, a bell from a workshop in Wismar was added. In 1881, the church received an organ by master organ builder Johann Heinrich Runge. The gallery had to be specially lowered to accommodate the instrument. Around 1913, the painter Willi Schomann, originally from Parchim, created the mural "The Last Judgment" on the choir wall. The church is Protestant and belongs to the Kirch-Jesar parish.
