A very worth seeing building

The ducal hunting lodge, which later became a forestry school, is located on a steep bank at the southeastern end of Lake Schwerin. Historically, the park was designed with wide views as far as Schwerin with its cathedral and castle; the trees, which have now grown tall, still allow this view today through dense foliage. From 1849 onwards, a model estate of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was built in the town of Raben Steinfeld. A small grand ducal castle (not open to the public) and a teahouse have also been preserved. The grand ducal family often spent their summer holidays here. The farm workers' houses were built with decorated gables in the English style and embedded in the park landscape.
