Römös beach - simply unique 💙. Crowded beaches are a foreign word on Romo. Römö is known for its endless beaches and in fact the island consists of nothing more than about 25 km² of dunes with beach meadows and sandy beaches in front. The island of Romo measures approx. 17x6 km, of which 40% is beach. Interesting: The beach gains a further 2-3 m in width every year due to natural sand build-up. Römö = BEACH: low tide, high tide, mud flats and dunes 💚. Ebb and flow have an impact on the beach: the tidal range (water level at low tide compared to high tide) is usually 1.8 m on Romo, so the beach is sometimes wider and sometimes narrower. Since the beach at Lakolk is about 1,000 m wide, this is of little consequence. - Should definitely be taken into account when parking! Only in very rare cases does the tide come up to the dune belt, where the two central beach entrances of Lakolk and Südstrand are located. In normal weather conditions at Lakolk it is about 1,000 m from the dune belt to the water's edge. So it's a good thing that you can drive your car onto the beach on Romo... Be careful with the cars on Romo Beach: Keep a sufficient distance from the water's edge! drive max 30 km/h, better only walking speed. Be considerate of walkers, other road users and also kites 😉..

St. Clemens Church is beautiful with the white limestone. Not to be missed... The attached cemetery was lovingly and charmingly laid out...

Some of the war bunkers were transformed into mules as a sign of peace.

Nice big free car park at the foot of the lighthouse. Information signs for the beach and various collection containers for waste glass, waste paper and other recycling material.

The lighthouse is listed and operational. The beam of light can be seen 26 miles away and warns sailors of Horns Rev reef. The lighthouse master's house next to the tower now houses a Horns Rev exhibition.
