A detour from Sulzlalm towards the Frederic Simms Hut through a magnificent mountain landscape. Absolutely worth it!

The valley station of the Simms Hut's cable car is located approximately 250 meters below the Alpine Club Hut. The hike to the Frederic Simms Hut takes another 30-45 minutes.

The start of the via ferrata can be reached from Holzgau in about half an hour. It is divided into three routes of varying difficulty levels, which can be easily combined with one another: the chamois (B/C), the ibex (C+) and the eagle route (D/E). A highlight is certainly the crossing of the roaring Simms waterfall using a total of three rope bridges. A via ferrata experience that is absolutely recommended!👌

A beautiful waterfall right on the trail

It is actually the Grießbach waterfall that lies between Hägerau and Steeg. It is around 80 meters high and is usually completely frozen in winter.

What this highlight means is the Simms Waterfall. It can be reached through the right side of the valley via a good gravel path towards Rossgumpenalm/Café Uta, so you can observe the waterfall from close up. It was created artificially in the 19th century by the Englishman Frederic Simms through blasting. The waterfall is about 30 m high and is fed by the Höhenbach. There are many hikers on the route, most of whom want to go to the Holzgau suspension bridge.

A nice place for climbers.

The rushing of the water can be heard from afar. A small waterfall in front and behind it a wild stream.
