The House of Bavarian History in Regensburg is dedicated to the history of Bavaria from 1806 to the present day. It is located on the Donaumarkt square near the Iron Bridge and opened in 2019. Spanning over 2,500 square meters of exhibition space, the museum presents around 1,000 exhibits, including personal memorabilia, that tell stories both big and small. The permanent exhibition explores Bavaria's development from the Kingdom of Bavaria through the Weimar Republic to the modern Free State. A special highlight is the 360-degree multivision "What Happened Before," which humorously conveys the history from 100 to 1800 and includes key historical sites in Regensburg. The offerings are complemented by special and cabinet exhibitions, a museum shop, and the "Brezeria" inn, which serves regional specialties.

A delightful little place with a new highlight: Cafe/Bistro Kulturschmiede. French coziness and hospitality with homemade cakes, coffee, and snacks. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This path along the banks of the Danube is recommended in any weather. You'll always see something new.
